Coming Home to Yourself — A Mindful Practice for Finding Ease in Every Moment

Each of us finds our way home in our own unique way.
The path looks different for everyone, yet the feeling of home is shared—
a quiet warmth and fullness that expands from the heart outward.
Living From the Heart
What does it mean to live from your heart and follow your spirit?
How is it possible when the mind builds walls of fear, doubt, and worry?
It becomes possible only in stillness—when we allow everything just as it is.
When everything is welcome, everything can pass through.
Home as a Practice

Coming home is not an external destination.
It is a moment-to-moment practice of finding comfort and solace within your own being—
right here, right now.
No matter how comfortable or uncomfortable, sick or healthy, happy or unhappy, we can always return to the seat of our sacred being.
Only you hold the key. Only you know the way.
It is revealed only in stillness, simply by allowing yourself to be.
Because it asks for nothing, it is always accessible—waiting quietly within this very moment.
The Influence of Place

I’ve traveled across the world and often feel more at ease in Nepal than in my home country. Perhaps it’s the energy of the land or the collective community that aligns with my spirit.
Ultimately, though, that sense of ease arises from within. Yet our environment does influence us—it sets the tone for our inner world and can either support or hinder our growth.
If we wish to change internally, we must also consider what surrounds us.
If we seek peace of mind, observe your external space:
the air flow and quality
the light and shadows
the sounds and scents
the textures and materials (stone, wood, concrete, earth)
Everything around us is energy, and every element affects our mind and body.
The Sensory Home

We are sensorial beings, experiencing the world through smell, taste, touch, sight, and sound.
If you could imagine a place where your body and mind feel completely at home—at ease and in peace—what would it be like?
What would it look like, feel like, taste like, smell like, and sound like?
If you can envision it, you can create it—whether physically or internally.
Without cost, without effort, you can come home to yourself in this very breath.
The Art of Letting Go
And just as quickly as it comes, the feeling shifts—this is the natural flow of life.
We work to build comfort, both internally and externally, knowing that everything changes with each moment. The gift lies in meeting these changes with openness and curiosity, keeping our hearts engaged and alive.
Tomorrow, our internal and external relationships, environments, and spaces may shift—offering new perspectives, experiences, and opportunities for growth.
The art is in finding ease moment to moment, while gently releasing what no longer serves us.

If we hold on too tightly to yesterday’s version of home, we might miss the beauty of what the present moment offers.
Peace unfolds when we release striving, allowing life to flow through us, and noticing the calm that arises when we let go of all that what we cannot control.
✧ Self-Reflection Practice
Take a few breaths and allow your attention to settle inward. Then gently reflect:
1. Where do I feel most “at home” within myself right now?Notice whether it arises as a breath, a sensation in the body, a thought, an emotion, or simply a quiet place of ease.
2. What within me, and around me, nurtures—or limits—my sense of belonging, my inner grounding, and the experience of home? Observe your surroundings—the light, air, sounds, textures, and space. Notice what invites ease, what feels constricting, and what sparks inspiration. Reflect on whether you are called to gently shift something, or simply adjust your perspective and allow it to be as it is.
3. What am I still holding onto that keeps me from resting fully in the present moment? In what ways could I release my hold, even slightly, and allow more softness and love to enter my heart?
